Cookie file Usage Policy
The www.torch.ro website uses its own cookies to ensure its visitors a better browsing experience. Cookies keep information in a small text file that allows a website to recognize a browser. Web-server will recognize your browser until the cookie expires or is deleted.
On the devices of users/visitors who do not authenticate (no accounts, respectively, have not assigned ID and set the password) only session cookies will be installed, which will be deleted at the exit of the site.
On the devices of users/visitors who, without being authenticated, upload data on the results of their own medical analyses in order to obtain interpretations through the intercession of the CMV instrument (“interpretation of the results of the analyses Identification of the Cytomegalovirus virus), functional session cookies will be used (with the role of loading the data into the form). The lifetime of these cookies is equal to the duration of accessing the site.
Finally, on the devices of users who authenticate by using the assigned ID and password, persistent cookies will also be installed, the role of which is to retain the user’s browsing preferences so as to facilitate his navigation into site, sending messages to other users who have accounts and access to current information related to the area of interest of the site. The lifetime of these cookies is equal to the period as the account created on the site is maintained, and will be automatically deleted when you remove/delete it.
Installing cookies is done by requesting a Web-server to the browser (e.g., Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, Opera) and is completely “passive” (meaning that it does not contain virus programs, spyware, malware, web bugs or Hidden identifiers and does not have access to the information stored on the user’s device).
A cookie consists of 2 components: its name and content or value.
The duration of the existence of any cookie is determined. From a technical point of view, only the Web-server that sent the cookie can access it again, in the event that a user returns to the Web-site associated with the Web-server.
The use of cookies by this site does not require personal information in order to be used and does not lead to personal identification of internet users.
As regards the classification of cookies, this is done by reference to three main criteria:
I. Depending on the purpose for which they are used, cookies may be:
- Strictly necessary cookies: these are essential for the operation of the site and for the use of some of the features (for example, access to secure areas). Since strictly necessary cookies allow the visitor to navigate through the site and benefit from its features, without the first, the site administrator cannot provide some features (e.g., automatic redirection to at less busy server). This type of cookies can be blocked or deleted by changing your browser settings as described in the “How can I control cookies?” section
- Performance and analysis cookies: even if they are not indispensable for the operation of the site, these modules are part of improving the performance and functionality of the Web page.
Information provided by analytics cookies helps the operator to understand how visitors use the site and then use this information to improve the way content is presented to users. Without this type of cookies, certain features or pages of the site may become unavailable.
- Functional cookies: These allow you to improve the functionality of our site by collecting information on the choices that users make, so that we can customize the site according to the user’s requirements.
The setting of these modules is done by us or by third-party vendors, whose services we may add to our pages (such as distribution of pages on social networks). If you don’t allow these cookies, then some or all of the features might not work correctly. Examples of these modules are those that provide: notification regarding cookies using, geolocation, on map, of the headquarters or collection centers, etc).
- Targeting and advertising cookies: even if not used at this time, these modules are generally used to monitor users ‘ online activity and establish profiles with potential to be later used for the purposes of Marketing.
For example, this species of cookies ensures the identification of the products and/or services that a user is interested in, and can assist in transmitting advertising messages corresponding to the user’s interest. In addition, these modules also perform a function of prevention: prevent repeating the display of the same ad. In the absence of these cookies, it is impossible to provide ads relevant to users, which is not applicable to our site.
II. Depending on the lifetime, there are 2 main categories of cookies:
- Session cookies – which are temporarily stored in the Web browser’s cookie folder and used to memorize it until the user exits the web-site or closes the browser window (for example, at the time of log in / log out on a web-mail or social networking account) and
- Persistent cookies – which are stored on the hard drive of a computer or equipment (and whose lifespan depends, as a rule, of the default lifetime of the cookie). In the category of persistent cookies are also included those placed by sites other than the one visited by the user at that time – also referred to as “third party Cookies” (third parties ‘ cookies) and which can be used anonymously in order to memorize interests of visitors, so as to deliver advertising as relevant to users.
III. By reporting to their source, cookies may be classified as primary (those created by the site) and third party cookies (created by a site other than the one accessed). Third-party cookies may only be installed on this site by sites that have obtained prior approval of the domain owner.
The information contained in the cookie connects the user (Web-browser) and the Web-site (the Web-server on which it is hosted). When the user’s browser re-accesses the aforementioned web-server, the latter will read the information that was stored since the last session and will react accordingly.
As each Internet user is entitled to identity protection, it is useful to know what the potential problems created by cookies are in order to achieve this.
Because their operating mode involves constantly transmitting mutual information between the user’s browser and the Web-server, the data may be intercepted by the action (intervention) of certain persons (attackers) on the flow of data transmission.
We specify that the information associated with cookies that we use is not used in a manner that allows users to be identified (visitors). Furthermore, the administrator of this site has not transmitted or will never transmit data about users to third parties.
The www.torch.ro website does not use the Google Analytics service or any similar services for the purpose of metering visualizations. We also don’t use Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn share functions.
The use of cookies is aimed exclusively at achieving the purposes described in this material. To do this, the site uses only the required cookies, primary (own) and session.
For more information about third-party cookie settings, you can also consult Your Online Choices website.
