Psittacosis is an infectious disease, determined by a bacterium, Chlamydia psittaci. This condition is manifested especially among parrots. The infection can be transmitted to humans, in which case it presents high fever, signs of pulmonary damage, and a series of systemic manifestations. In other situations, the disease may be similar to a flu infection.
